Hey guys! As I've told you before, I love watching beauty videos on YouTube. One of my absolute favorites is Michelle Phan, I have watched her videos since the beginning and its so amazing to see how far she's come. Although some of her videos can be a little too saccharine for me (i.e. all the ones with her boyfriend) I still enjoy watching her makeup tutorials because of how much detail and effort she puts into them. She even has her own makeup line now!
Initially it was a little too expensive for me to try, but apparently as it's gotten more demand they've been able to lower the prices (reverse economics lol). Which is fine with me! Especially when Michelle announced this sale she was having where you could buy one Love Me For Me powder foundation and get one liquid foundation for free! You know I was totally sold.
Unfortunately, my happiness was short-lived. I was so excited to get my package in the mail and quickly ripped open the box, only to see that the powder foundation had arrived CRACKED! I usually don't buy set powders online for precisely this reason, but it just seemed like too good a deal to pass up. I contemplated sending it back but it just seemed like a waste of effort, especially since they could easily be like how do we know that you didn't drop it yourself? Plus it's still usable, its just SUPER annoying.
Ok but enough of that unpleasantness, lets get to the reviews!
EM Love Me For Me Flawless Finish Powder Compact
Not a fan of this powder foundation! Aside from the fact that it arrived cracked, its just not that good. I don't know if it's like my most perfect match color-wise, but I literally cannot see it on my skin. I can feel it after I brush it on, but I don't SEE anything. (I literally just pressed one of the foundation crumbs into the back of my hand and even then I could only barely see it on my hand). So yeah, that's a problem for me! I need a foundation that will cover up any imperfections on my skin and even out my complexion. This one only mattifies my skin for a bit, but even that doesn't last. Especially when you consider that it's supposed to be a high-end line so presumably this is a high-end powder foundation, it just doesn't live up to expectations. The only thing I can think to use it for is as a setting powder, since it is definitely not pigmented-enough to stand alone as a foundation. So yeah, I'll pass on repurchasing this one.
EM Love Me For Me Flawless Foundation
This little foundation made my whole purchase worth it. It is seriously in a whole other league from that sorry excuse for a powder foundation. It is amazing!!! And I'm very picky when it comes to foundations (read my breakdown of drugstore foundations here) but this one passed all my tests. It is so pigmented, it blends like a dream, and it covers all my imperfections. It dries to a soft velvety-matte finish that lasts a really long time. Let's not get carried away here, it's no Covergirl Outlast in terms of staying power, however, with some minimal touch-ups this foundation has definitely lasted all day for me.
The only problem is I think this foundation has been discontinued? It's no longer listed on Michelle's website and when I found it through Google the price has been changed to $0 and you can no longer add to your cart. So yeah, that's a bummer. Not sure why it was discontinued, but I'm sure her other liquid foundation is similar in quality. I'm just glad I got to snag one of the last bottles of this formulation, cause this foundation has seriously moved to the top of my list very quickly (I would say second place after my Covergirl Outlast).
There you go, I hope you enjoyed this little review! Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of the EM makeup line and what you thought.
