Cult Classics: Benefit Benetint and Nars Blush in Orgasm

Hey guys! I hope your summer is going good, mine is busy but exciting. In addition to my law clerk job at an IP law firm I am also working as a graduate research assistant at my law school one day a week. I was a little apprehensive about juggling the two at first, but I decided to just go for it. It's been totally fine and I'm glad that I have two great new experiences to add to my resume! After a busy couple of weeks at my new jobs, I decided to go to Sephora and treat myself to two beauty products that I have been lusting over for AGES. These two products are seriously cult classics in the beauty world, and after hearing so much about them I decided to try them out for myself and let you know if they are worth the hype... (Spoiler alert: they are!)

Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain

First up is the Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain. This was actually the first product ever created by Benefit; they invented it in the 1970s for an exotic dancer and it blew up! It is a watery, highly pigmented formula that you literally brush on your lips and cheeks and then blend. It dries to a naturally sheer finish and lasts for hours! I bought it because I wanted something that I could apply to my lips in the morning for a bit of color, without going all-out with lipstick. This stain is perfect for that! It looks so natural and adds just that perfect hint of color that I was looking for.

Creepy close-up of my lips here lol nothing on top, stain on bottom.
Not sure why the lighting is different in each pic, I swear I took it in the exact same spot!
It dries super fast, and once it dries, its not budging, so you have to really blend it out fast. What I do is just dab a few dots on my lips and quickly blend, and then top it with some of my rosebud salve to seal in that color. You can also use on your cheeks, although I haven't tried that yet, and to be honest I'm a little nervous to because of how fast it dries! I will probably just use it for my lips. In terms of staying power, I have found that it definitely fades throughout the day. However, it lasts a lot longer than any tinted balms that I've tried, and I like that I only have to apply it once.

So final verdict: Yes this product is worth the hype! I only recently purchased this and I've been LOVING it. Swiping it on in the morning has become second-nature to me; it's super easy and lasts for hours. Compared to what I would normally put on my lips, which is nothing, I think this is a great way to amp up your daily lip look in a fun but natural way. Classic!

Nars Blush in Orgasm

I've been hearing about this blush for ages, it is without a doubt the most famous blush shade ever produced. I'm talking about the Nars Blush in Orgasm. Nars blushes are amazing because while they look vibrant and extremely pigmented in the pan, the pigments are finely ground so that they apply sheerly, leaving your skin with a soft and natural glow. You literally only need one light dab of the blush to cover your whole cheek, that's how pigmented it is. Their Orgasm shade is a beautiful peachy pink blush with hints of gold. Part of its appeal is its uncanny ability to look absolutely beautiful and extremely flattering on every single skin tone.

Isn't that just gorgeous??

After years of eyeing this blush at Sephora I finally decided to just buy it, and I'm so glad I did! It completely lived up to the hype; it is a gorgeous color that leaves my skin with a beautiful and healthy glow. It lasts ages too; even after long nights out this blush does not budge! The only downside is it's price; it costs $27 which may sound comparable to other high-end blushes, but its actually a lot smaller (only 0.16 grams of product, compared to my Balm blushes which have 0.3 grams). If you're interested in this blush but don't want to pay that price, many have said that the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso is a perfect dupe!

Final verdict: Totally worth the hype! I mean, the color speaks for itself, it is absolutely 100% gorgeous. It may be a little expensive, but I think the quality you get is definitely worth it. Plus you only need the tiniest of dabs each time you use it, so I think it will last a long time for me.

Beauty Insider Glow Beyond Box

So one of the perks of being insanely obsessed with Sephora is their awesome Beauty Insider point system. I have amassed quite a large amount of points, and have been saving them for just the right occasion. I finally splurged this past visit on their Tarte Glow Beyond box! It costs 500 points for this guy but I think it's totally worth it; you get a deluxe sample of Tarte's Amazonian Clay Mineral Bronzer (which I love) and a deluxe sample of Tarte's Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara. They also give you a deluxe sample of their Brazilliance Skin Rejuvenating Face and Body Self Tanner, which is exciting, and two mini-samples of their Brazilliance Skin Rejuvenating Tanning Face Towelettes and their Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment

So yeah, if you have 500 Beauty Insider points saved up, go buy something from Sephora now so you can get this! And if you are a regular Sephora shopper and don't have a Beauty Insider card, seriously go get one. It is completely free and worth it. It's not a store credit card, you just earn loyalty points and they email you  when products go on sale. You also get a free birthday present every year, which is awesome.

Alright that's it guys! Hope you enjoyed these quick reviews of two cult classic beauty products. Let me know in the comments what cult classics I should try next!

    1. Yeah I love it for that!! Lipstick just seems like too much on a daily basis, I like it for nights out but not all day every day. This stain is perfect for lightly adding color, you don't even notice your wearing it!! They have other shades too!
